Once again I’ve put together a year end mix. For those keeping score at home, this is the third time I’ve done as such (click here for 2008 / 2011). As a reminder, my general operating procedures for these things is as follows:

• Must be a song I fell in love with in 2011. Not “the best” songs or “coolest” songs or “buzz worthy” but songs that just caught my attention.  
• Must have been released RELATIVELY recently. Not necessarily this past year but something in the ball park of a contemporary release. There are a couple exceptions to this rule this year… Deal with it!
• Must not repeat artists from previous years. PLEASE check the previous Mix Ups before you write me some hate mail about how I left out this year’s Hot Chip release or some bullshit like that. The only repeats this year are Little Dragon and Kanye West.
• No Western Art Music. If you want my thoughts on Bach or Bartok just write me.

I got into some serious weird music this year. No complaints or surprises there.
